We have moved rapidly from a society based upon agriculture to one based on industry and now on information.
In many jobs, exactly what you are expected to do can get a little blurred.
Careers, apparently, are not set in stone and you are expected to gain new experiences to enable and maintain flexibility.
Time management is certainly not new.

We are all looking to become more efficient.
Hopefully, this website can provide some of the advice to achieve this.
This efficiency should not just be in our own day to day activities but how we react with others to achieve this.
It's a case of trying to produce the optimum results from ourselves whilst at the same time enjoying a good relationship with
friends, work colleagues and relations.
It is not good enough to just have the knowledge of techniques - you will
have to employ them.
Time management has been a subject for many writers.
For the passing minute is every man's possession,
but what has once gone by is not ours.

Time management training is not about developing skills that will make you win all the time at the expense of others.
With this approach you may make short term gains but will lose in the long run as your friends start to dislike you and your staff become
de-motivated, dejected and leave.
On the other hand, it is not about being overly altruistic, continually giving in to please others for an easy life.
Both of these extremes are doomed to failure in the long term both on a personal basis and from an organisation viewpoint.
A person who is good at time management would be an individual or manager that gains, along with his friends, work colleagues and organisation.
What ever system you develop and put in place it must be easier to execute than to maintain it.
Once you have got the hang of a few basic ideas and systems you will be able to tailor them to meet your own specific needs.
The process will evolve.
Unfortunately, many people feel they are in jobs where they are inundated with work unable to cope, organise, prioritise and act
because there is too little time to 'do' anything.
The person comes under pressure.
The boss has no sympathy as his activities are equally hectic.
The problems perpetually circulate like a tornado out of control destroying the person, the work environment and the persons home life.
This continued rush can lead to severe health problems.
Being overwhelmed by uncompleted tasks and information arriving faster than you can process it will lead to frustration, panic and stress.
One problem is people are not all the same. What works well for one will be a complete hindrance to another.
How we use our brains to make decisions and reason has been studied a lot and in some areas is referred to as 'brain engineering'.
Understanding this can be the key to unlocking not only your own self improvement in managing time but to the appreciation of the
approach by others.
